How to Set Your Mechanik2® Watch
Before using the Dual Mode Facilitator® (pusher), the watch must be wound up. Otherwise the movement will not have enough power to use it.
To ensure the longevity and proper function of your Mechanik2® Annual Calendar watch, adjustments should only be made when the hands show 06:25 (six twenty-five). This is the safest position for the hour and minute hands to avoid damaging the movement.
Following this guideline helps protect the movement and prevents damage to the gears and levers of the annual calendar. The warranty may be voided if these instructions are not followed.
Hold the screwed-down crown with the index finger and thumb of your right hand. Turn it counterclockwise (leftwards ↺) to unlock the safety screw connection to position 0.
1.1 Turn the crown 15 to 20 times clockwise (rightwards ↻) before setting the watch. This winds the movement to approximately 50%.
1. Unlock the crown
Now place the crown in the first position (1st). Turn it to the right (clockwise ↻) to change the date and month.
Set the desired date and month.
If you set the date and month first, pressing the crown may cause the day of the week to shift. Therefore, we recommend setting the day of the week to “AM” first, followed by the month and date.
4. Set date and month
Turn the crown to the left (counterclockwise ↺) to set the current day of the week and AM/PM. Since your Mechanik2 is already set to 06:25, the day of the week should be set to AM (indicated by one white dot).
The AM/PM display is shown through two holes to the left of the annual calendar window. If the bottom hole is marked white, it indicates AM (ante meridiem, midnight to midday); if both holes are marked white, it indicates PM (post meridiem, midday to midnight).
3. Set the day and AM/PM in position 1 (first position).
The automatic ETA Valjoux 7750 movement requires some 500 – 600 revolutions of the rotor for a full winding.
Once fully wound, the movement has a maximum power reserve of 45 – 48 hours, and by wearing your Mechanik2®, your watch winds itself via the rotor (image).
If your Mechanik2® is wound by a watch winder, it should rotate rightwards (clockwise ↻) and be set to 1000 to 1200 revolutions per day.

How to care your Mechanik2 watch
It is imperative that you avoid knocks and/or impacts to the case of your Mechanik2, as this can impair the water resistance and functions of your watch.
The water resistance of your Mechanik2 should be checked by a specialist every two - five years.
The chronograph function (Tempus-Marker) should NOT be used as a centre second hand. Work on the watch may only be carried out by authorised CHRISTIAN GAFNER GmbH personnel.
We thank you for the best possible care and handling of your new Mechanik2 Annual calendar watch.
